Cheyenne Eagle Butte High School Fall Sports Information: By Larry Mendoza, CEB Athletic Director

Hi to all returning and new students who will be participating in the 2009/2010 fall sports season at C.E.B. On behalf of the C-EB Athletic Department, I would like to welcome you back. Hope you had a very enjoyable and relaxing summer. We are confident that you all worked out and stayed in shape over the summer and will be ready to go when practice starts (lol). We look forward to working with you and your parents and/or guardians this year. We are expecting a rewarding and fun season. Practices will start on August 17, 2009.
There is much to be done by before the 17th. All students in grades 7-12 who plan to participate in any South Dakota High School Activities Association-sponsored sport during the 2009/2010 school year must have a current athletic physical. Those students will also need to have all parent permission forms on file in the activities office before participating in the first practice. Students also need to be academically eligible. Please contact your respective coach to see if you need a physical. Physicals can be taken at IHS; they have the sports physical forms. Coaches will also have the permission forms and the academic eligibility list so please contact them. If you are a transfer student, please bring the necessary transfer forms with you so that we may be able to determine your eligibility.
The fall sports coaches are Coach Inu – Football (ph. 200-2546), Coach Allen Benoist – Volleyball (ph. 200-0270), and Coach Shannon Jewett – Boys and Girls Cross Country (ph. 365-6609). Please contact these coaches for time and place of first practice.
Our teams need to have ten practices in before our first games, so it is very important that you are there on the first day of practice on August 17th.
I am very excited about the upcoming year and feel honored to be part of the C-EB School System. We are planning an athlete and parent’s night in the near future. The staff and I look forward to meeting you at that time. Keep an eye out for notice on this organizational meeting.
